Meghalaya taxi fares: what a seat and a cab actually cost

Published shared taxi fares for Guwahati–Shillong and Meghalaya day trips — per seat by vehicle, what is included, and how full-cab pricing works.

Fares in Meghalaya are usually quoted at the roadside and vary by who is asking. Here is what a booked seat costs, published.

Guwahati ↔ Shillong, per seat

Vehicle Seats Per seat
Hatchback (Swift / WagonR) 4 ₹750
Sedan (Dzire / Aspire) 4 ₹750
Ertiga 6 ₹800
Innova 7 ₹900
Tata Sumo 8 ₹700

Flat per seat — no front-seat premium, no back-seat discount. Tolls are included. Luggage beyond one bag and night charges, where they apply, are itemised before you pay.

Day trips, per person

Trip Per person
Shillong ₹1,000
Cherrapunji ₹1,200
Krang Suri & Phe Phe ₹1,300
Double Decker trek ₹1,200
Dawki & Mawlynnong ₹1,500

Vehicle, driver, fuel, parking and tolls are included. Entry fees, boating at Dawki, trek guides and meals are paid on the day.

Taking the whole cab

Book every seat on a vehicle and a flat discount comes off the total. For three or more people this is often cheaper than three separate seats plus the inconvenience of sharing.
