Booking & payment

How much do I pay online?

Just ₹100 — a small advance to confirm your seat. The balance is paid in cash to the driver after the trip ends. So if a seat costs ₹700, you pay ₹100 now and ₹600 to the driver.

Why an advance? Why not pay everything in cash?

The advance lets us hold your specific seat and notify the driver. Without it, slots would fill up with people who don't actually turn up — which is why traditional taxi stands run on first-come, first-served queues. The ₹100 is a small commitment that keeps the system reliable.

What if I don't have ₹100 right now?

Razorpay accepts UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay, Paytm), debit / credit cards, and major bank netbanking. Most UPI apps let you pay even with ₹100 balance.

Can I cancel my booking?

Yes — write to support@onlinetaxistand.com or message us on WhatsApp with your booking ID. Cancellations more than 3 hours before departure are refunded in full to the original payment method (Razorpay typically settles in 3–5 working days). Cancellations closer to departure are reviewed case by case.

Drivers & vehicles

Who are the drivers?

Local owner-operators across the Northeast — every driver uploads their Aadhaar and a valid driving licence before they can post availability. Admin reviews each application before approving.

Why don't I see the driver's name when I book?

Driver name, phone, and vehicle registration are shared after the cab is allotted to your booking — usually within a few hours of payment, sometimes immediately if a driver in the queue matches. This is to prevent people from contacting drivers directly and bypassing the booking system.

What if no driver is allotted before my trip?

If we can't allot a cab to your slot before departure, the booking is auto-cancelled and the ₹100 deposit is refunded in full. You'll get an email when this happens — usually the refund completes within 3–5 working days.

Pickup & drop

How do I choose a pickup point?

On the booking page you'll see a list of taxi stands in your origin city (Paltan Bazar, Khanapara, Airport, etc.). Pick the one closest to you. The driver waits at that stand at the slot time — no need to call.

Can the driver pick me up from my exact address?

Not in the shared-taxi format — the cab needs to fill up at a common pickup point. For door-to-door, you'd need to book a private cab. Drop us an email if that's a service you need.

How early should I reach the pickup?

Be there 10 minutes before the scheduled departure. The cab leaves on time once all seats fill — late passengers may miss it (and we can't refund a missed cab).

Account

Why do you ask for my mobile number?

So the driver can call you if there's a delay, change of pickup, or any trouble finding you. We never use the number for marketing — see the privacy policy for full details.

I didn't get the OTP email.

Check your spam / promotions tab — Gmail occasionally puts our first-time email there. If it's not there either, wait 30 seconds and click 'Resend OTP' on the login page. If still nothing, email support@onlinetaxistand.com and we'll help.

I want to drive on the platform.

Open https://drivers.onlinetaxistand.com on your phone, sign up with your email, upload your Aadhaar and driving licence. Admin reviews and approves within a few hours, then you can post availability for any route.
